My Grandmother had some of this flower in her garden and it was my favorite. I had it identified and was also told it was a prairie flower and that the first settlers would transplant them into their gardens from the prairie.

I have been reading some photography books and one of the first chapters tells you how you should take photos on yuor knees (and even on your belly), rather than from standing, to get a really good shot. THis looks like you did just that! great photo
